Junglinster

The municipality signed the “Pakt vum Zesummeliewen” on the 5th July 2021. The “Pakt vum Zesummeliewen” was presented at a kick-off meeting on the 27th October 2021. Accordingly,a steering committee was set up.

The municipality of Junglinster already had a number of good practices in terms of intercultural living together before signing the PvZ (City App, interactive map on their website, HOPLR Neighbourhood Application), a review of the current situation has highlighted additional areas of interest.

Two meetings were held on the 13th March and on the 25th April 2022 where the steering committee decided to prioritise the topic of “Encounters”. In doing so, the committee followed the wishes of the municipality's residents, who had expressed their support for more public spaces in the awareness-raising letter that was send in beforehand. The topic of "Encounters" was deliberately kept open in order to have as much freedom as possible in the discussions about potential meeting places in the municipality of Junglinster.

34 participants attended the citizens' workshop on the 18th June 2022 in order to exchange ideas about meeting places in the municipality of Junglinster. Using maps, citizens were able to indicate the places where they usually meet their fellow citizens. This methodology helped to identify meeting hubs in the municipality. A number of concrete ideas were then put together and presented to the steering committee.

• Meeting point "ÔPEN" :

An association (ÔPEN asbl) was set up following the citizens' workshop. This association ensured the creation of a new meeting place in the municipality of Junglinster. ÔPEN was inaugurated on the 22nd May 2023. 

• Book box

In addition, a book box has been set up following suggestions from the public.

The municipality of Junglinster signed the « Gemengepakt fir interkulturellt Zesummeliewen »  on the 27/03/2024. 

A steering committee of 7 members coming from the council of eldermen, the town council, the commission for intercultural living together and two associations has been set up to oversee the various stages of the « Gemengepakt fir interkulturellt Zesummeliewen »  project.
