Sanem

The municipality signed the Pact vum Zesummeliewen on 13 June 2022. A steering committee was subsequently set up.

While the municipality of Sanem already had a number of good practices in terms of intercultural living together before the signing of the Pact vum Zesummeliewen (Senior Citizens Service +, Community Garden, Mediation Service), an inventory of the situation highlighted additional areas of interest.

At a meeting on 21 December 2022, the steering committee decided to prioritise the subject of "social participation". This decision reflects, on the one hand, the desire to involve the non-Luxembourg population more closely in local politics and, on the other hand, to improve the participation of every citizen in local decision-making processes.

The municipality of Sanem took advantage of the national registration day on 18 March 2023 - when non-Luxembourg residents were able to register on the electoral roll for local elections - to organise an event bringing together the people of Sanem and local politicians. Around 40 people took part in the various workshops on active citizenship, good neighbourhood, Luxembourg culture and welcoming newcomers. 

Participants' suggestions were collated and presented to the steering committee on 19 April 2023.

The steering committee decided to organise a Neighbours' Day in a new neighbourhood where residents have started to move in.

The municipality of Suessem signed the « Gemengepakt fir interkulturellt Zesummeliewen »  on the 27/03/2024. 

A steering committee of 14 members coming from the council of eldermen, the town council, the commission for intercultural living together and two associations has been set up to oversee the various stages of the « Gemengepakt fir interkulturellt Zesummeliewen »  project.
