Niederanven

The municipality of Niederanven signed the PvZ on 2 October 2022. The steering committee was subsequently set up and is made up of members of the municipality's CCCI.

While the municipality of Niederanven already had a number of good practices in terms of intercultural coexistence before the PvZ was signed, a review of the situation revealed additional areas of interest.

In their responses to the PvZ's awareness-raising letter, citizens expressed the need for meeting places. The steering committee has decided to respect this vote by prioritising the subject of "Meeting places". In addition, with a view to the local elections in June 2023, the steering committee has decided to launch a number of projects aimed at increasing public interest in local politics.

Around 40 citizens took part in the citizens' workshop on 22 February 2023, dealing with the following subjects:

• "Meeting places in our community
• "Local elections

Some excellent proposals for concrete action have emerged and have been presented to the local authorities and the steering committee for approval. 

• Political debate

On 22 March 2023, at a debate organised in the run-up to the local elections in June 2023, the various political parties presented themselves to the public. During the event, residents had the opportunity to ask questions, which the candidates had to answer in one minute. The concept for this event was developed in collaboration with the intercultural living together advisors. Around 80 residents took part in the event, which included direct oral translations into English and French.

• Third centre 

The leaders of the municipality of Niederanven want to set up a third place that responds to the suggestions of citizens. The details of this project have yet to be worked out. 

The municipality of Niederanven signed the « Gemengepakt fir interkulturellt Zesummeliewen »  on the 27/03/2024. 

A steering committee of 6 members coming from the council of eldermen, the town council, the commission for intercultural living together and two associations has been set up to oversee the various stages of the « Gemengepakt fir interkulturellt Zesummeliewen »  project.
